Splitrock Starlight II
Starlight from hundreds of billions of stars illuminate the sky above Lake Superior as seen from the shores of Splitrock Lighthouse State Park near Beaver Bay, Minnesota. Tracking stars with the equatorial coordinate system, built from the concept of the celestial sphere, was used as a basic navigational aid long before the advent of modern civilization and technology.
