Stars are Born
Starbursts from specular highlights on the Temperance River at Temperance River State Park along Minnesota's north shore of Lake Superior.
To achieve this effect, straight out of the camera without special filters, you need to have fast enough shutters to prevent blur, use a relatively small "pin-hole" aperture (f-stop of 8.0 to 16.0 is the best range to prevent too much softening from diffraction), and the reflection of the sun must be at just the right angle.
