Cedar Swamp Fairies
Calypso orchids (Calypso bulbosa var. americana), also known as Fairy Slippers, are a unique denizen of old-growth cedar understories in the northern wet coniferous forests of the Great Lake States. These little beauties often struggle to reach 4 inches high, and are easily missed if not paying attention. 1 shot under natural light with macro lens.
