Waiting it Out
Male trumpeter swan (Cygnus buccinator) on incubation duty at its breeding marsh in central Minnesota near Cushing.
Restoration of the trumpeter swan is one of the state's greatest wildlife management success stories. Currently, this species is growing exponentially in the upper midwest, at nearly 15% annual rate of increase per year.
