Gliding Crane
Close-up shot of a member of the eastern population of greater sandhill cranes (Antigone canadensis tabida) gliding over a wetland in the Stacy area of east-central Minnesota. This subpopulation of cranes was once completely extirpated from the state by the late-1800s, but has staged a remarkable comeback, showing tremendous adaptation to our modern, human-dominated landscape.
