Welcome to Images by Beaulin. If you wish, sign my guestbook below. I'm Beau Liddell, Biologist, Artist/Photographer & Outdoorsman from Little Falls, Mn (land of Lindbergh) where I live with my wife Judy of 22 years, our two girls, Jamie & Emily, and Aspen, our VERY energetic English springer spaniel. I hope you enjoy browsing my galleries! You can click on the links above to navigate this site. This site is frequently under development, but you can't keep a good shutterbug down, so check back often, as new material will be added periodically.
My formative years were spent exploring the fields, woods and wetlands in east-central Minnesota on my family’s property, as well as nearby Cedar Creek Natural History Area and Carlos Avery Wildlife Management Area. The landscape was far more rural than it is today, and I developed a deep appreciation for the natural world, which at first led to self-taught avocations as an artist, carver and photographer in the mid-80’s, and ultimately (after realizing I needed a “Fall-back Plan”) to pursue a career in the wildlife management profession.
I obtained my college and graduate school education from the University of Minnesota with degrees in Ecology and Wildlife Conservation (specializing in waterfowl and wetlands ecology & management), and I have held various technical & research positions in academia, as well as with both the private and public sectors. More recently, I have worked as a wildlife manager since 1998....one of the most diverse & demanding jobs imaginable. However, I find more happiness when off-duty.........hunting, fishing, camping, and honing my skills as an outdoor photographer. I frequently donate my fine-art photo prints to local conservation groups to help protect the wonderful natural heritage we've been blessed with.
All of my avocations are intensely personal to me, including photography, and thus are not undertaken lightly........they must provide inspiration and convey meaning in my life. But, aside from any selfish motivations, photography is a wonderful & powerful tool to inform, educate and inspire. It's been amazing to see the technology advance over the past three decades. Photographers often like to talk about equipment, so if you're curious what gear I use you can check it out here. While pursuing my subjects, "tread lightly" and "respectfulness" are my motto's, and the overwhelming majority of my shots are taken on public property with the hopes of one day publishing a photo-documentary book on these treasures......Hooray for public lands & waters!!!!
Most of my work is available for sale, either in print form or as licensed images. Prints provided through BayPhoto are of good quality. However, for the most discerning eye, higher grade fine art prints (higher resolution, wider color gamut and tonal range) can be produced with professional grade photo inkjet printers compared to other printing processes. If interested in inkjet fine art prints, inquire with BayPhoto directly on the availability of inkjet printing processes, or e-mail me with your request. I currently can provide fine art inkjet prints in any standard size up to 13" x 19", and panoramic sizes up to 13" x 44".
If you have questions, wish to order an image or print that you don't see in my galleries, or have any other custom requests, please use this contact form, or e-mail me. I am also on Flickr, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Capture Minnesota.
